“ I had a great experience at this place. The food is on the pricier side, but definitely worth a try. We had burgers and a delicious cheesecake. It's a high-end restaurant, so the cost reflects the quality. ”
“ Food: 8/10 Service: 9/10 Ambiance: 10/10 What a great dinner at The Met! I've been coming here for years but have yet to write a review. It has my favorite ambiance in all of Seattle's steakhouses -- plush velvet green booths, rich wood-heavy decor, and an old-school charm that makes it feel timeless, vintage, and intimate. Unfortunately, we were initially seated in a less desirable booth near the restrooms, however the staff was accommodating when we requested to move to the main dining area. Lam was charismatic, knowledgeable, and attentive! His superb service was a highlight of our dining experience. Thank you! Drinks: we ordered a A5 Old-Fashioned, The Met Manhattan, and The Usual. All of them were phenomenal and worth it! The A5 is SUPER rich and fatty, so it's an acquired taste -- if you're an adventurous drinker. We started with the Roasted Bone Marrow, which comes with hazelnut romesco sauce, pickled shallot, capers, and grilled crostini. The serving spoon was too large for the bone, making it a bit of a messy ordeal. The bone marrow was silky and indulgent, the crostini had a great crunch, and the toppings' bright acidity cut through the richness nicely! Def my favorite dish besides the steak. The Dungeness and King Crab Cakes were fine, but nothing special. The apple slaw and citrus butter sauce definitely elevated the dish. I would get these if you love crab cakes, otherwise this will be a skip for me next time. Onto the star of the night -- the 40 oz American Wagyu Long Bone Ribeye ($205, comes sliced, includes two sides). It was buttery, tender, and more than enough for two people! For sides, we got mashed potatoes, which were divine as usual, and the Yukon Gold Potato Cakes -- these were not my favorite and tasted like creamy hash browns to me. Total cost of meal + tip was around $400. Tip: If ambiance matters to you, note your seating preference when making a reservation. ”
“ Our experience was amazing and our food was delicious. Jen was a great server. I do believe more crab should be in the Oscar add-on considering it's $30. ”
“ I've been to Metropolitan Grill a couple of times before. This time around, I went to the Met Grill for the 2025 Meet at the Met deal which is only available to redeem Sundays- Thursdays. This is a deal that they were offering: receive two complimentary dinner entrees PER 4 guests (lowest value) the same evening on us. The registration form is normally available the end of the year and is available the following year for the first month. If you decide to order from the "Dinner for Two" option - which I think is the best bang for the buck, that will count towards the two complimentary dinners. The restaurant also has valet parking for $16 and you can charge it towards your bill. Just make sure to give the ticket to your server to add. With a party of 6, we came to Met Grill to celebrate a birthday and to use the deal. We were greeted and got seated right away. The service was top notch, took care of us and had no complaints. We ordered individual starters and family style entrees, sides, & desserts for the table. Starters: Wedge salad, Caesar salad - came with fresh anchovies, clam chowder - was too salty for us, and French onion soup - the soup was amazing, came out extra hot. Entrees & Sides: Dinner for two: Longbone Ribeye and Bone-in Fillet. We basically got (2) orders of the Longbone Ribeye for the price of one. The dinner for two came with (2) sides and the bone-in filet came with (1) side to choose from. We ordered the following: (2) mash potatoes, (2) sautéed mushrooms, (1) mac and cheese. All of the sides were good and there were no complaints. The steaks all came out precut, perfectly charred, and grilled to perfection. My favorite was the bone-in filet as it was softer than the ribeye. All of this was enough to feed 6 people. We also got a free dessert for the birthday girl and ordered the nine-layer chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was moist, came with vanilla ice-cream and perfect for sharing. Overall, highly recommend! ”
“ We were celebrating our daughter's birthday and we did not hold back here. Our server, Bruno did an amazing job of sharing his knowledge and pride of what the Metropolitan Grill offers while delivering top notch service. We started with the crabcakes, which come 3 to an order. I had the Delmonico, birthday girl had her usual filet mignon and hubby had the recommended whiskey infused NY steak that was on the specials list. For our side, we ordered the Brussels Sprouts. Meat was prepared as ordered and the whiskey infused NY steak was the winner for me. It was flavorful and meat was tender. After we finished our entrees and the table was cleared, Bruno walked out with a crème brulée with a lit candle for my daughter, which I thought was a nice touch. Yes, there are still restaurants around that provide a complimentary dessert to acknowledge a special occasion! Bruno did a wonderful job providing great service to each of his tables. It's obvious he enjoys what does and does it well. This may seem like a review of Bruno and not of our meal or the restaurant, but our experience was the whole package - delicious food in a fine dining atmosphere served by caring staff. It's very impressive to see that this restaurant group takes care of their employees, as evidenced by the tenure of their waitstaff, who have been with the company 25+ years. ”
“ The service was outstanding, from valet to coat check to service and boxing up our food; my only hiccup was asking for just the crab cake and they added the slaw to my To go box with the crab cake. Mark was attentive and helpful for our weary mid-week bunch and trying to fit everything on our four top--he was a pleasure. The food good; most of the dishes were great with fresh flavor that highlighted the ingredients. The sourdough has delicious tang, the Caesar salad had the freshest anchovy I ever had, the tableside chateaub steak was a fun experience with great flavors and was cooked perfectly, the creamed spinach was perfectly spinach-y and spot on texture, and the baked potato was pillowy with the beecher's sauce (just missed a crumbled bacon option). My honey loved the potato cakes the most of the sides. The food bad: $205 wagyu steak was so charred it was difficult to taste the flavor of the steak itself. The temperature of the mushrooms and tomato were cold and barely cooked. The cumin in the crab cake slaw was overpowering for such a subtle meat. The chocolate sauce on the 9 layer cake made a perfectly good cake cloying. We had the Buy 2 get 2 dinners discount, which helped make the charred wagyu palatable, but I'm not sure we would return if the reputation is best steak in Seattle, Hamdi so far holds that title in our house. ”
“ Excellent service! Delicious food. Festive ambiance and a lovely place to go for a special occasion or if you're craving good steak or fine dining experience. The warm bread and butter was an experience in itself. Crusty, chewy and had the perfect amount of salt. We ordered the skirt, the del Monaco and a lobster tail. Each bite melted in our mouths. Seriously enjoying each chew and swallow. The desserts were off the hook. We shared a flourless chocolate something that was so decadent. We couldn't help ourselves as we said, mmmmmm after each bite. We also shared a creme brûlée which isn't usually our thing, but we went crazy over the candied top. Highly recommend. My only suggestion is to have grass fed/finished steaks. I didn't see any on the menu. ”
“ This is to declare the Met the BEST STEAKHOUSE in Seattle! I've come to this rating after 3 years of rotating through all the other highly rated steak places in town, including the Butcher's Table, El Gaucho, Capital Grill, Bourbon Steak (now closed), Ascend, STK Steakhouse, Aqua, 67 Restaurant, Palisade, and Daniel's Broiler. The Met simply has the best meats, side dishes, table-side desserts, service... you name it! The Met delivers every time! Dry-aged USDA Prime Beef, grilled on mesquite charcoal, delicious, consistent, never a let down. By my reservation records, I dined here around 40 times since 2021 and will continue to do so. I usually get some combination of the 20oz bone-in Delmonico Steak, roasted bone marrow, baked potato, potato cakes, Caesar's salad, local oysters, lobster bisque, the salt service, table-side Bananas Foster, creme brulee, and, of course, their Martinis and beer on tab. This is a refreshingly old school, classic, upscale steakhouse decorated in wood, brass, and green velvet; every cozy booth comes with a little lamp and they also have a separate room with a long marble bar fitting for movie stars of the 60s. ”
“ What a lovely dinner! We love a nice steak dinner and while in town, decided to check out Metropolitan Grill. Dan was our genial and knowledgeable server, and the whole service experience was lovely. Attentive without hurrying us in any way, as we started with the crab cakes and Caesar. Delightfully crab-ful and lightly breaded cakes over a delicious slaw; three was plenty for two! The Caesar had a very nice, slightly citrusy vinaigrette. The steaks were superb. My 8 oz filet was medium rare and tender; the light char was just right. The baked potato came with an assortment of condiments from melted butter to a dish style salt cellar with three options. My husband got the 4 oz duo with wagyu and promptly devoured it; the tender asparagus was just right. We were too full to eat the chocolate layer cake there so got it to go with packed up vanilla ice cream and enjoyed later at the hotel! ”
